12/19/22:
The events that Ulbek is referencing happened here, Episode 3: Part 39.

The games they're playing here will probably be known to a lot of you, but they are:
- Settlers of Catan by Klaus Teuber and
- Munchkin by Steve Jackson
They're both a lot of fun if you've never tried them! I like to think that more games than just Chess will survive into the 24th Century :)

BrickVoid: Oh I also have a chocolate additction, I try to keep it under control though. It lasts longer that way.
12/25/22 03:36 PM
BrickVoid: Mostly caffeiene and other ingredients found in Coke and Pepsi-max. I don't drink alcohol or smoke or do drugs. Also junk food, otherwise known as fast food. Microwave meals if I'm out of cash, the occasional square meal from the local club I'm at. Nothing you'd care about, that's for sure! :D
12/23/22 08:57 AM
Danigeek: Any way. I wanted to say this was a fun episode, it's definitely how our game night are handled. Also I wish we had more readers who comment, that's all I want for Christmas. Just one single person seems to say things, and that's sad.
12/23/22 08:53 AM
Danigeek: @Brickvoid what are you on and can I have some?
12/23/22 12:47 AM
BrickVoid: I mean that last bit, some people get drunk, and forget they're supposed to regulate their alcohol. There are a lot of extremely rude and smelly people who get too drunk and end up talking to a police officer around where I live. Most of them sober up quickly once they're defending their actions in court.
12/23/22 12:45 AM
BrickVoid: I will expect you back around January 8th, as that would be the first Sunday after New Year's Day! Keep up the celebrations and don't drink whilst intoxicated!
12/23/22 12:44 AM
BrickVoid: Don't worry about Christmas or New Year's break! Recover from the cleanup efforts afterwards, first! Then worry about the comic! :D
12/21/22 11:26 PM
Swiftbow: Hey, I spaced on the date... there won't be a comic this weekend due to Christmas! (Not sure about New Year's yet... I will let you all know via tagboard.)
12/12/22 05:54 PM
Swiftbow: Actually, the one you mostly see in that arc is 6411 - Sand Dollar Cafe (with the beach). Though yeah, the Poolside Paradise plate is in that link you referenced. Good job! I forgot we even used them in Harry Potter Comics. (Though the Weasley's pink spiral staircase is also from that set!)
12/12/22 01:28 PM
BrickVoid: It can be seen throughout that episode arc, occasionally. :D
12/12/22 01:25 PM
BrickVoid: There's just a tiny corner of it visible, but here it is in Episode 263, in the upper right corner of panel 2: http://harrypottercomics.net/263.html
12/12/22 12:40 PM
BrickVoid: As to where it's been used before, most likely one of the Harry Potter episodes. Might take me a while to fish it out of the archives, it's not like this brain of mine remembers every episode! ::-)
12/12/22 12:39 PM
BrickVoid: Say that 10x fast!
12/12/22 12:38 PM
BrickVoid: 6416-1 Paradisa Poolside Paradise! :D
12/12/22 12:36 PM
BrickVoid: It is this: [Part 6092px2] Baseplate, Raised 32 x 32 Three Level with Stone Ramp and Blue Pool Pattern

Transcript
Panel 1:
Tech Chief Hawkins: ... and I'll trade three sheep for your wheat, Jurak.
Lieutenant Jurak: Yeah, all right.

Panel 2:
Major Ulbek: Your trading is complete, Chief Hawkins? Good. Hm. I roll a 7.
I am ths required to move the Robber and we must discard all but 7 resource cards.
However, would it not make more sense for us to band force and eliminate this robber entirely?
    He disrupts all our production.

Panel 3:
Hawkins: It's just part of the rules, man.
Ulbek: An illogical part of the rules.

Panel 4:
Doctor T'Zel: I concur.
Jurak: As do I.

Panel 5:
Hawkins: Fine, sure... I guess we can make up a house rule for it next game.

Panel 6:
Ulbek: House rule... an Earth term? Presumably meaning a principle that everyone finds agreeable, even if it is not legally or officially adjudicated?
Hawkins: Um... yes.
Ulbek: I understand that Lieutenant Commander Starrat acted in a similar manner during the Battle over Wogglenather.

Panel 7:
Hawkins: What do you mean?
Ulbek: Lieutenant Burns was arrested for protesting the Commander's decision.
T'Zel: Why are you so concerned about Natashia, Ulbek? We're not even part of the Intrepid crew.
Ulbek: Indeed so. I seek merely to make myself useful. I find her actions curious.

Panel 8:
Hawkins: I heard that Burns was accusing her of violating Federation Directives. And we were under attack.
She did the right thing arresting him.
Ulbek: So you would argue that the rules of combat superseded the rules of the Federation?
Hawkins: I'm not a lawyer.
Ulbek: No. But is not Lieutenant Burns' argument similar to our own?
A rule, in this case, that would cause the deaths of many enemy combatants could be considered illogical.
Therefore, Burns sought to enforce a new "house rule" to prevent such a tragedy.

Panel 9:
Hawkins: That's one way of looking at it, I guess.
But those Tajarans deserved what they got. Hell, they blew up your ship...
I guess you gotta be a Vulcan to see it your way.
Ulbek: Perhaps so.
Now... I will spend these resource cards to construct a new settlement and one road.
I believe this provides the requisite points to successfully settle Catan and thus win the game.

Panel 10:
Hawkins: Dang it... again? Anyone want to play Munchin instead?
