2/13/23:
Those familiar with TNG, DS9, and Voyager are well aquainted with the Maquis! This takes place before they're any sort of armed force, though.

BrickVoid: In other news, I appear to have picked up some nasal blockage from wherever. Hopefully it's just some summer allergy that passes quickly. I may have a lot of free time on my hands, might go archive delving if I don't feel like sleeping it off.

BrickVoid: This guy sounds quite full of himself! Hopefully he'll have something more solid and reliable for them by the time the next episode is ready! :D

Transcript
Panel 1:
Andre Peters: Starbase 23, this is Intrepid. We are in transport range.
Starbase 23 (comms): Roger that, Intrepid. Prepare to receive transport.
Commodore Jeffrey Bannister: We're ready! Energize.

Panel 2:
Andre: So this guy is a "master diplomat," huh?
What's the difference between that just a regular diplomat?
Jeff: I, um... I'm not sure?
VFX: *VMMMMMM*

Panel 3:
Jeff: Hello! Grayson Talbot, I presume?
Grayson Talbot: That's me! Pleased to meet you, Commodore.
Jeff: Same! This is my Yeoman, Bridget Janson, and our Chief Engineer, Andre Peters.
Talbot: A pleasure.
And now... I hear there's some Romulans we need to have a chat with.

Panel 4:
Jeff: That's the idea. The Admiral said you were familiar with the situation?
    We've already had our briefing.
Talbot: Oh, quite. I've had days and days to research.
Plus, here on the edge of the Neutral Zone, Romulan activity is always the talk of the day.
Bridget: Do you regularly talk to the Romulans, then?

Panel 5:
Oh, now and again. But not recently. This is a new posting for me.
Actually, not to brag... but I was kind of the linchpin in finalizing our treaty with the Cardassians.
Bridget: Didn't we give up multiple colony planets in that treaty, though?
Jeff: And aren't those colonists protesting that treaty still? The Maquis, I think they're called?

Panel 6:
Talbot: Ending a war is never easy. Or free, I'm afraid. But lightly populated colony worlds were a small price to pay for a lasting peace.
    Wouldn't you say?
Bridget: I'm just glad that sort of thing isn't my job.
Talbot: Oh, don't sell yourself short. My job is just talking. You help run a starship!
Bridget: Yes, well... right now, my job is to show you to your quarters. If you'll follow me?
Talbot: Without delay!
