2/19/24:
This may be the first computer mouse ever seen in Star Trek. But having used a lot of different interfaces myself, I think they will stick around.

Comments from the Tagboard:

BrickVoid: @Freezer: I'm more concerned about the levels of acting this Talbot character has been going to in order to conceal what he's really up to! :D
02/21/24 01:08 AM
Freezer: That seems a bit risky for someone as buttoned down and controlled as Talbot, sabotaging the ship you're currently on.
02/19/24 10:48 PM
BrickVoid: I wonder if Zack knows how to spot a worm, trojan or virus? He'd have to know something about how those work in order to decrypt encrypted files. Hopefully Talbot isn't trying to sneak a virus onto the Intrepid.

Transcript
Panel 1:
*SFX: BZZT!
Grayson Talbot: Yes, come in.

Panel 2:
Talbot: Ah, Miss Janson... you're back.
Yeoman Bridget Janson: Yes, sorry, sir. There was some clerical work on the bridge I had to attend to.
Talbot: Presumably to do with our jumping to warp? I'm glad the colonel finally saw reason.
We're only fortunate the supreme advisor was still willing to listen. It took quite a while.

Panel 3:
Bridget: I know it did, sir. You've been worked to the bone on this mission.
Talbot: I have! But alas... this is the path I have chosen for myself.
Bridget: Still, maybe I can help? With some of the tedious paperwork?
Talbot: Oh, well, that would be a load off my mind.

Panel 4:
Talbot: This is the third time I've had to send a revised settlement document back to Federation headquarters. I dread writing it again.
The boilerplate changes little, but I have to detail the chain of events, interactions, messages, etc.
Bridget: Yeah, I can handle that. If you message me the last document you sent to HQ, I can use it as a template.
Talbot: You are a godsend, Bridget. I shall do so!
SFX: *CLICK!*

Panel 5:
Bridget: You should get some sleep, sir. I can handle this.
Talbot: Perhaps I will.
And you know.... when this is over, I expect there will be some promotions.
I could use someone like yourself in a more... permanent capacity.
Bridget: I just might take you up on that, sir.
Talbot: Oh please... call me Grayson.
Bridget: Oops, yes. Good night... Grayson.
    Sweet dreams.

Panel 6:
Narration Box: And shortly...
Ensign Hylia: Is this all Bridget was able to get? This file is just bureaucratic mumbo jumbo.
Lieutenant Zack LeRoux: Doesn't matter! He sent this same doc yesterday but encrypted. Now we've got a direct comparison.
Get those logs ready... I'll have a decryption key ready in an hour. Then we can read ALL of Talbot's messages.
