Panel 1:
Lieutenant Zack LeRoux: Hey, you're up early!
Commander Dale Zurkett: Tell me about it. That wasn't you, was it?
Zack: How's that?
Dale: Computer's acting wonky and the replicator's churning out soy sauce ale.
Zack: Ha! Damn. Wish I could take credit.
Have been a few glitches in the computer, though. Nothing shows up on self-diagnostics.
Been doing some more thorough scans with Hylia.
Panel 2:
Dale: Find anything?
Ensign Hylia: We're coming up empty. Nothing out of the ordinary in the system logs or autoruns.
File integrity normal, too.
Dale: So what's with the drill?
Hylia: Hardware check. I was sure the problem started with the comms system.
Dale: The subspace laughter?
Hylia: I dunno, sir. Maybe we're chasing my imagination.
Dale: Well... I'll leave it your discretion.
Hylia: Thank you, sir. And the Commodore is waiting for you.
Regarding the message from the Admiral.
Dale: Message to him, too? I guess it is serious.
Panel 3:
Dale: We all got a message from the Admiral?
Jeff: I'm afraid so.
Pull up a seat!
Panel 4:
Jeff: So what was your take?
Dale: About the message? I, uh... didn't listen to it yet.
Jeff: We've been ordered to return to Earth immediately. Under escort by the Potemkin.
Dale: What? I mean... we need repairs. But they're underway. We can't warp to spacedock right now anyway.
Lieutenant Commander Natashia Staratt: There's more. We are also ordered to transfer all three of our prisoners to Captain Jenkins of Potemkin.
Dale: All THREE? The Romulans won't agree to that. We already told them they could take the Supreme Advisor.
Panel 5:
Natashia: I wonder if there's something the prisoners know that we are not supposed to discover.
Dale: *sip* Good question.
Natashia: Or do you suppose my brief tenure as queen caused some uproar in Starfleet Command?
Jeff: No way, Natashia. I'm sure Admiral Benson sees stuff like that everyday.
Natashia: I would think the odds of that are extremely low.
Dale: Well, Benson has never liked me. But I can't imagine he'd torpedo this mission out of spite.
And I know Bog Jenkins. He's reasonable. I'm sure we can work out any hiccups once he gets here.
Jeff: Exactly. The Admiralty may be a little stiff, but we're all on the same side.
I'm sure whatever's going on is just a big misunderstanding.
