(reposted)
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc.! We're back!
I'm also excited to announce that I've finally finished a full draft of my novel: The Chronicles of Erth, Book 1: Steam Dragon
It's kind of a mash-up fantasy/steampunk/western/adventure tale set in an alternate world. Think, basically, a fantasy setting that has reached the industrial age. But that industry had not dampened the magic in the slightest.
I am quite excited... I technically first wrote this story in high school, but it was more generic (that is, medieval) fantasy at the time and I was quite an amateur writer, too. But, over the years, I've kept working on it here and there, refining the setting, and (about 10 years ago) started over from scratch. Then, after a little while, I started over from scratch
AGAIN... but now, finally... it's (almost) done. And, hopefully... it's only the start of a bigger series.
I am planning to self-publish and will be printing at some point this year after final
editing (and after I finish illustrations for it). I will announce here when it is available (and I will also post sample chapters at that time)!

BrickVoid: Speaking of Ms. Hulyard, why hasn't Mr. Shrunt summoned her to the bridge along with the others?

Transcript
Panel 1:
Mr. Dwayne Shrunt: What just happened?? Report!
Helmsman Talia: I'm not sure... our warp bubble spontaneously collapsed!
Systems are all online... but the warp bubble will not reform.
Panel 2:
Shrunt: Internal sabotage, then? Complete with laughter?
Comms Officer Collins: No, sir... prior incidents of the laughter propagated through the ship's computer and intercom.
What happened just now... it came from subspace directly.
Like a... wave. A sound wave.
Shrunt: Sound doesn't travel in space!
Collins: Subspace, sir. But yes... I'm not entirely sure how it happened.
Panel 3:
Science Officer Burns: Perhaps more of a radio wave? Sufficient interference in subspace COULD disrupt our warp field.
Shrunt: I want less could'ves and maybes! Figure it out! I want that warp bubble back up before Potemkin gets too far
ahead.
Security Officer Gibson: Sir, Potemkin has also dropped out of warp. In fact... she seems to have no power at all. I'm
scanning her.
Shrunt: How can that be possible?!
Panel 4:
Andre Peters: Gee... I wonder. It's almost like that subspace computer virus we warned you about, you know, the one that's been
spreading through our systems?
I'm sure glad Ms. Hulyard ignored all that. What a waste of time.
Panel 5:
Shrunt: ...
Try to hail Potemkin. Find out if they're having hte same problems as us.
Collins: Yessir.
Shrunt: And... also contact Commander Zurkett, Officer Staratt, and Mr. Del Rio. I want them on the bridge immediately.
Collins: Right away, sir.
