Hope you all had a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc.! We're back!

I'm also excited to announce that I've finally finished a full draft of my novel: The Chronicles of Erth, Book 1: Steam Dragon

It's kind of a mash-up fantasy/steampunk/western/adventure tale set in an alternate world. Think, basically, a fantasy setting that has reached the industrial age. But that industry had not dampened the magic in the slightest.

I am quite excited... I technically first wrote this story in high school, but it was more generic (that is, medieval) fantasy at the time and I was quite an amateur writer, too. But, over the years, I've kept working on it here and there, refining the setting, and (about 10 years ago) started over from scratch. Then, after a little while, I started over from scratch AGAIN... but now, finally... it's (almost) done. And, hopefully... it's only the start of a bigger series.

I am planning to self-publish and will be printing at some point this year after final editing (and after I finish illustrations for it). I will announce here when it is available (and I will also post sample chapters at that time)!

Swiftbow: It's not that Hank doesn't understand, he's just expressing confidence. He doesn't plan to endure punishment, because he intends to win this case.

BrickVoid: I think Colonel Renyolds wants the Gorn to understand what he went through with the Tajarans and the Slow Dimension, although he would be advised to get to the point of what he's trying to explain pretty quickly. :D

Panel 1:
Commander Ezzok: Your honors... given the change in circumstances, may I be granted a short recess to confer with my co- defendant? General Zonak: The court is willing to permit this.

Panel 2:
Admiral Uldrander? Excuse me? We haven't voted on that. I don't see any compelling reason for a recess.
Zonak: You're going to quibble about THAT? Fine. I vote for recess.
Uldrander: And I vote against.

Panel 3:
Elder Sersa: I will vote in favor. The human should be apprised of what he has gotten himself into.
Colonel Hank Reynolds: I appreciate that, ma'am. But I'm here to prove Ezzok's innocence. Not share his punishment.
    Hell, maybe when this is over, we'll laugh about how ridiculous this all got.
Sersa: Unlikely, Colonel. This may be amusing to a Human... but to a Gorn, it is no laughing matter.

Panel 4:
Narrative Text: Meanwhile...
Mr. Dwaynet Shrunt: Helm... update, if you will, on our ETA at Starfleet Command.
Helmsman Talia: Yes, Mr. Shrunt. Still 54 hours out.
Comms Officer: Mr. Shrunt... I'm getting a message from Starfleet Command. But there's a lot of interference.
Shrunt: Put it on speaker.
Comms Officer: Yes, sir. Transferring now.

Panel 5:
Unknown Transmission: Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
