Major Ulbek: Colonel, the flagship's shields continue to hold under phaser fire.
Their return fire has reduced our shields to 85%.
The other vessels are not attacking. Precision strikes appear to have been successful.
Colonel Hank Reynolds: Thank you, Mr. Ulbek.
Panel 2:
Lieutenant Zack LeRoux: We're taking a big chance, sir. We should finish off the other warbirds.
Helmsman Talia: I rather agree, sir.
All those ships are classed as heavy cruisers... they're no light threat, even without cloaks.
Hank: I'm well aware of that.
But this situation requires a calculated risk.
And maybe a chance to resolve this without a war.
Panel 3:
Ensign Hylia: Colonel, the flagship is answering our hail.
Hank: There we go. Onscreen.
This is Colonel Hank Reynolds of the U.S.S. Intrepid.
To whom am I speaking?
Panel 4:
Commander Vedrix: This is Commander Vedrix of the Bright Talon.
I presume you're here to plead mercy for your act of war?
Hank: Call it preemptive self-defense, Commander.
We both know you were ordered to attack us immediately upon return.
And I'm sure you've noted that your ships are disabled, not destroyed.
Vedrix: So noted. Shall I inquire as to your motive?
Hank: A desire for conversation that is only possible without the threat of ambush, Commander.
Panel 5:
Vedrix: Go on.
Hank: We have significant evidence of corruption involving our diplomat and Spoogie's Supreme Advisor.
Working against both Federation and Romulan interests.
I believe this may have some effect on your standing orders.
Vedrix: That is entirely possible, Colonel. If this supposed information is not wholly fabricated.
As such, we will accept electronic relay of your evidence for review.
Hank: Thank you.

Vedrix: In the meantime, however... I must not shirk my duty.

Hank: Helmsman! Evasive maneuvers at your discretion!
