Nothing to really add again at the moment!

Freezer: That's two ships woth of crew they'd have to silence, plus not all of them are Starfleet (like Andre). They basically had let Dale have the Intrepid to keep him quiet about Wogglenather. They really think they can keep the Intrepid and Potempkin crews quiet? Not to mention the Romulan crews (even if those contingencies do keep Talbot
and the Supreme Advisor quiet). Even if the President and co. stay out of jail, I'd say whatever deals they had in teh making are scuttled.

BrickVoid: It's also quite clear in the previous comics discussing the situation of the crew of the Intrepid and their actions, that they seem a lot more interested in a cover-up rather than anything resembling a fair trial. They want to keep events under wraps, particularly if it doesn't look good for the President.

BrickVoid: As for Jeff's statement that they'd get a fair trial, I have serious doubts as to whether the formal court martial would even happen.

BrickVoid: For instance in the 1980's animated cartoon series, Robotech, they activated the warp drives on a ship and the warp drives took damage from being activated on or too near a planet. I think there might be good reasons one would not want to engage a warp drive too close to a planet, especially if it alters the intended shape of the warp
bubble due to a gravity well too close to it.

BrickVoid: From what I understood of warp drives in general, there might be a situation where the gravity well alters the effect of the warp drive and causes it to be affected by it's own warp field if it's too close to a planet.
