8/24/25:
I've always kind of wondered about the visual effects of warp. They've used a LOT of different visual styles in the many series. In real-life... it's hard to say. Ostensibly, the stretched lines aren't starlight so much as light refleting off various particles that are interacting with the warp field. But could you see them from inside the bubble? And what would the
OUTSIDE of the bubble look like? (Not to mention, of course, that a warping ship is moving at faster than light, so, if it's coming toward you, you wouldn't see it until the very moment of arrival. And if it's moving AWAY... would you see anything at all?)
That's probably enough rambling, lol. I only thought of this tangent because of drawing warp lines for the shuttle, which was a little trickier than I expected. I hope they look convincing!

Transcript
Narrative Text: Meanwhile...
Panel 2:
Commander Vedrix: By the powers... when I agreed to this plan, I did not expect to be nearly shot down.
Colonel Hank Reynolds: Well, we weren't! So that's good news, isn't it?
Vedrix: For me, perhaps. I am not the one who just became a fugitive of his own country.
Panel 3:
Hank: How do you figure? I'm your prisoner, remember?
Vedrix: Considering that Hulyard woman's willingness to kill you... do you think it matters if you're a prisoner or not? They'll kill you if you uncover their crimes. Or they'll kill you if you're simply a nuisance.
It is much the same way on Romulus. The trick lies in finding ways to work within the system.
Hank: It's not the kind of system I want to stay in power. If I can change it for the better... I will.
Vedrix: Good luck to you. Watch your back.
Hank: I will. For now, though... let's check on our actual prisoners.
Panel 4:
Hank: Ezzok... everybody sitting tight back there?
Ezzok: So far, yeah. That audio Hylia relayed from the Intrepid, though... about blowing us up? Was that real?
Hank: Sure was. The prisoners heard it, too, right?
Ezzok: Oh yeah.
Panel 5:
Hank: What did you think about all that, Grayson? Still think the President will have your back?
Grayson Talbot: I... uh...
Hulyard! She knew I was here... But she was still going to shoot us down. And kill me!!
Hank: Yeah, I know. Let's go and talk about that.
