Panel 1:
Sergeant at Arms: Let us begin, your honors.
If I may direct your attention to the main view screen, we will now play the black box footage recovered from the Grzonder.
Commander Ezzok: You recovered the Grzonder's transponder?
Sergeant: Surprised by that, Commander? Or concerned?
Panel 2:
Admiral Bokchow (recording): I see you are enjoying our slow dimension!
Now taste the full might of Tajara!
Grzonder audio: Captain Korzon? Commander Ezzok? Come in! We're under attack!
Shield are ineffective!
Panel 3:
Grzonder audio: No answer! Lieutenant... what do we do? Weapons are down, shields are useless!
Transmit distress signal to Gornar! All hands abandon ship! Do you hear me? Abandon--
Panel 4:
Recording (audio): . . .
Sergeant: Your honors, as you have just witnessed... both captain and commander were conveniently off the ship when the Grzonder was attacked.
Not only that... they simply ignored the calls from their crewmen in distress.
Ezzok: That's not true! It was the slow dimension... we couldn't transmit messages at all. I didn't even realize...
Panel 5:
General Zonak: Did you try, Commander? Did you really? And what were you doing off ship? What ship were you on instead?
Ezzok: You know what our mission was, General. I was aiding Captain Korzon in delivering the procured device to the human vessel.
Zonak: That does not answer why BOTH of you were off the ship at the same time.
Ezzok: There was no crisis when we left, General. The captain requested my presence.
Zonak: And we have only your word on that.
Panel 6:
Admiral Uldrander: "Procured device?" Is that codespeak in a court of law? Do not speak in riddles, Commander Ezzok.
It seems far more likely to me that you left the ship intentionally, in order to defect to the humans.
And then arranged for all witnesses to be terminated. Coward! Traitor! What do you say to that?
Ezzok: My mission was classifed, Admiral. If you don't have enough class to know what we were doing there, it's not my job to inform you.
Unknown transmission: Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Zonak: Silence! I will not have this courtroom made a mockery!
Commander Ezzok, you will show due respect to your elders!
Panel 7:
Sergeant: A stellar defense so far, Commander. At least the audeince seems to enjoy your stand-up act.
Ezzok: That wasn't the audience! It's some kind of computer virus. We were tracking it on the Intrepid. But if it's on Gornar, then--
Sergeant: Spare us this claptrap. Do you wish to further review the video footage?
Ezzok: No. Except to point out that all you have is audio and speculation. But you need to listen ot me about that laughter!
Panel 8:
Sergeant: Stop trying to change the subject. I have far more than a simple video. I have... survivors.
Ezzok: But you... survivors?!
