Panel 1:
Narrative Text: And shortly...
Sergeant at Arms: Lieutenant Hazren. You served on the Grozonder. Isn't that right?
Lieutenant Hazren: Until she was destroyed, yes.
Sergeant: And your commanding officers?
Hazren: Captain Korzon and Commaner Ezzok. Sir.
Sergeant: Very good, Lieutenant. Now... we've seen the footage leading to the tragic loss of the Grzonder. Please walk
us through your own ordeal.
Panel 2:
Hazren: Yessir. We lost nearly all power in the initial volley. Our warp core was fully breached. I called for a full evacuation.
Sergeant: Did you attempt to contact your captain?
Hazren: We did. There was no response. Only a handful of us reached the escape pods. Even fewer made it past the blast radius
before the core blew.
Commander Ezzok: We didn't see you at all!
Sergeant: And what of the clandestine human vessel?
Hazren: It was also damaged. Though less severely. The Tajarans began a boarding operation. Eventually... it blew up.
Sergeant: Fascinating. So the Tajarans shot to destroy the Grzonder without a second thought... but boarded the
Shadowburn. To what end, we must wonder?
And you saw no escape pods from the Shadowburn?
Panel 3:
Hazren: No... we didn't. I don't know how the Commander survived.
Admiral Uldrander: He has also claimed that the Tajarans' "slow dimension" prevented communication and destroyed the
Grzonder.
And that these Tajarans could invent such a weapon without mastering even the basics of warp travel.
Did you observe any such device?
Hazren: I, uh...
Uldrander: Answer the question. Was the "slow dimension" real, or simply a fabrication to explain away Commander Ezzok's real
plan: to defect to Starfleet and destroy all evidence?
Bear in mind... this court will not look kindly on false testimony.
Panel 4:
Hazren: I... did not directly observe a slow dimension. The Grzonder's shields failed. I cannot account for the reason
why.
Uldrander: But sabotage could explain why, couldn't it?
Hazren: Well--
Colonel Hank Reynolds: C'mon, this is ridiculous!
Panel 5:
Sergeant: Colonel Reynolds... you do not have permission to speak on this matter.
Hank: But the admiral is leading the witness! And threatening him, too!
Panel 6:
Berzok: Colonel... you're on dangerous ground. You shouldn't--
|Hank: Ezzok is being railroaded! Someone has to say something!
Panel 7:
General Zonak: Colonel Reynolds! As a guest of our planet, we will allow some leniency with regard to our laws.
However: If you speak out again, you will be considered fully complicit in Commander Ezzok's charges. You will stand with him
before this court.
Hank: Then to hell with it. So long as I can tell the REAL story, charge me. I'll stand with Ezzok any day of the week.
Zonak: So be it. Let the record state... the human is now under Gorn jurisdiction.
